Keep your vibration high to stay healthy

Today the term Good Vibes is often used to encourage people to stay positive. But staying positive isn’t always so easy. With many things happening on this planet we can easily become saddened and overwhelmed day to day.


It is so important that we find ways to be aware and work towards keeping our vibrations high, especially to maintain good health. Lower vibrations or negative feelings and fear can create chronic stress and disturbs our hormonal balance. It actually begins to depletes us of the chemicals our brain requires for happiness. It damages our immune system. And we all know what happens when our immune system isn’t functioning as strong as it should. We get sick!


WHAT CAN YOU DO?


I’m happy to share a few things that I do to get and keep my vibrations high when I begin to feel low. Maybe they can help or just inspire you to find what works for you.


My favorite is to connect with nature. Some people call it grounding or earthing. It involves doing activities that electrically reconnects you to the earth. Can be as simple as walking barefoot in the dirt or on the beach to fully burying yourself (head out of course). Sitting out in the sun, visiting a local garden or taking a walk in a safe wooded area. This practice relies on science to explain how electrical charges from the earth can have positive effects on our bodies.


Dance, Dance, Dance!


Research shows dancing can improve your mental health. The feeling I get when I am with my family or friends and an old school dance jam comes on and the room just stops then someone yells “Oh that’s my song” and everyone starts moving in their own way just enjoying the song and the memories that come with. That feeling is bliss. Music is life and just makes you feel good. Intuitive movement is moving however your body wants and what feels good in the moment, it takes no experience. All you have to do is put on your favorite song and let the sound move you.


Treat yourself!


We often feel guilty about doing things for ourselves. Most of the time we take pleasure in doing for others before we do for ourselves because doing so doesn’t make us feel selfish. When we are told to treat ourselves we think of food treats, well at least I do. And to some it may sound self-indulgent or like a frivolous strategy to temporary pleasure but its not. In fact it is self-care and is very beneficial to our mental, emotional and physical health. Treating yourself is all about self love and comes in many forms. It is simply allowing yourself to do what you want and love without any explanations or guilt. You deserve it!


Last but not least Meditate. There is no wrong or right way to meditate, but my favorite is a guided sound bath. Most of the time I can not shut my mind off to be quiet and still long enough to gain the benefits I look to receive from meditating. So listening to someone guide me through and having the vibration of sound helps me to reach the state of meditation that helps me gain clarity and relaxation.
